Today was gorgeous. It was crazy windy, which made it difficult to stay outside and enjoy it for long periods of time, but I did take a few pictures today. This is my favorite.

Revenge of the Joshua Trees!

I visited the Las Vegas area a couple of weeks back. We didn’t do much in the city, but my local tour guide and I drove around in the hinterlands quite a bit and saw a lot of Joshua Trees. In a couple of places, they were so numerous, it got creepy.

I started making up a plotline for a movie, Attack of the Joshua Trees!, in which they grow innocuously all over the American Southwest, then are one day activated and take over the world, as they are actually aliens in hibernation. (We were in the car a lot. I had to find amusement somewhere.) Then we saw this burnt out area of Joshua Trees, and I decided this was from the sequel, Revenge of the Joshua Trees! (a la Revenge of the Killer Tomatoes). Sadly (or not), I didn’t flesh out the plot for the sequel, so you have to use your own imagination for this scene.
